Your music stays yours.
What this site keeps, where, and how to leave. Updated 23 September 2026.
On this device
Without an account, the lessons remember your place, your ticks, your next-time notes and whether you use Windows or Mac in this browser’s storage on your device. None of it is sent anywhere. Clear your browser’s site data to remove it.
Every sound on this site is made in your browser. A WAV you play on lesson 5 stays on your computer; it is never uploaded.
Your account
An account is optional. Creating one stores your email, a salted password hash, account consent time and lesson progress in the website’s database. Your password is not stored in readable form. Shrey, who runs this site, can see account emails and sign-up dates in the private learner dashboard and export them.
The site does not verify ownership of an email address or send email. Use your own address and keep your password safe. There is no email password reset yet. You can read every lesson without an account.
Secure sign-in cookies keep you signed in for up to 30 days. Export a progress backup from your account’s practice page whenever you like. Your FL Studio projects and audio stay on your computer.
The optional AI tutor
When you ask, your question and the displayed lesson are sent to Anthropic for an answer. Your email, password, next-time note, audio and project files are not included. The website does not save question text or answers to its database; they remain in the open page until you leave it.
The server stores request identifiers, timestamps, opaque account identifiers, daily hashed network identifiers and budget amounts to enforce the shared allowance and prevent duplicate spending. Unknown or interrupted requests retain a conservative reservation. Anthropic processes requests under its own privacy policy (new tab).
Other services
The public website runs on Netlify. Sign-in, saved progress, the tutor and the private SJ studio run on Sites and Cloudflare. These hosting services process requests and operational logs. There are no advertising or analytics scripts added by this site. Fonts are served from this site, not from a font service. Opening external references contacts those websites. YouTube is contacted only when you choose to play a video here.
Delete or leave
In My place, you can delete your account with your password. This removes your email, password hash, active sessions and course progress. The tutor’s spending ledger stays so deleting accounts cannot reset the shared budget; it no longer links to an email after account deletion. No marketing emails are sent by this website.
