You finish with: FirstTrack_sketch.wav plays from beginning to end.
Step 1: Give the idea a shape
Listen for: 16 bars with an entrance, a gap, a return and an ending.
Patterns won’t go into the Playlist?
Open the Playlist with F5. Choose a pattern in the Picker, then draw it onto the Playlist. Pattern clips repeat only where you place them.
Step 2: Change the ending
Make unique first, so your edit changes only that last clip.
Listen for: a last phrase that sounds like an ending, not a loop that stops.
Step 3: Export the whole piece
Listen for: the whole 16 bars, start to end, not one loop.

Check Full song, and check that the Playlist contains the full arrangement. Clear any accidental time selection.
Step 4: Save and check
Your miniature grows into the finished track over the next four parts.
Listen for: your sketch from beginning to end, finishing where you chose.
