Give the lead something to say

Step 1: Choose one line

Open FirstTrack.flp.
Vocals: choose a line of your own words and tap its natural stresses.
Instrumental: hum your melody and tap its most important notes.

Step 2: Find its melody

Play and hum variations for ten minutes.
Keep your existing chords.
Capture a phrase that says something different from the opening.
Leave space before and after it.

Listen for: a phrase that says something different from the opening.

Step 3: Save and check

Save the phrase.
Save a guide voice memo too, if it’s useful.

Listen for: a clear musical statement, with breathing room around it.
